Need help ASAP!

I just talked the guy who is putting my engine in and theres a problem. Normally, when you turn the key to the accesory position, the fuel pump goes on for 2 seconds then shuts off, then after you start it, it turns back on. Well, the problem is, the fuel pump doesnt turn back on after you start the car. I used to have a 4-way chip with security mode, and he thinks that could be the problem. He said maybe it did something to the computer when i took it out. He checked the intertia switch and thats not the problem. Any ideas. I have to call him back in about an hour.

thanks

Unplug the computer from the system to reset it. Let it sit for 10 minutes or so that then put it back with no chip.

Your oil pressure switch seems to have gone bad. A little birdie told me.

im not really sure what that is, but he said he was getting good oil pressure when the engine was running. the engine will start, but turn off seconds later. could the switch still be the problem even if im getting oil pressure?

For the first 2 seconds the pump runs is to prime and start the truck then the computer allows the pump to run only if the oil pressure is good, and if you have a bad sensor, it wont let it run.

This sounds like a bad chip connection, but there is no chip in the truck right? Just have him clean the PCM, maybe there is some build up on it shorting it out?? Didnt a friend of your put something on the PCM to try to make it look factory? Clean that crap off.....

I thought...

If it was a bad connection to begin with that the truck wouldn't start.

I remember one of his friends adding some homemade goop to the contacts that "LOOKED" factory, no telling what it may be doing....

FYI, my "friend" who put the stuff on the contacts was a ford tech for many years and deals specifically with lightnings. He was not just one of my school friends who said they know what they were doing. And, the stuff that he put on the contacts is the same stuff that ford uses....

I overnighted them my chip. Even though sal doesnt think it has to do with the chip, there is no harm in trying it. If thats not it, I will have them check the oil pressure switch. They said that that they are almost sure that is not the problem but well see...

any other ideas?
