JDm Lightning Pulley

I have a 4lb JDm Lightning pulley, ITS NOT THE NEW INTERCHANGEABLE ONE. I had it on my 00 Lightning, and now I have an 02 L. I used it w/o the cage and I plan on doing the same when I install it. I heard that there were a difference between the 99-00 pulley and the 01-02 pulley. Will mine work if I don't use a cage?? Thanks

JDM doesn't make a pulley without a cage, you either have a PSP, JL, metco, or another. You have to have a cage with a JDM pulley.

Yes there is a different pulley for 99/00 and 01/02 motor's. your pulley won't work.

I know they don't make a pulley w/o a cage. What I was saying is that the stock pulley is attached to the cage and then its thread onto the harmonic balancer. The JDM pulley has left handed thread, so if do not want to use a cage you thread it onto the harmonic balancer shaft. Now with that said, are the harmonic balancer shafts the same for 99-02, of are they different? If they are the same, why could you not use it? Thanks

As far as a pulley that screws in to the crank fitting there should be no difference between 99/00 and 01/02
As far as using a JDM pulley without the cage it would be possible but would require a press and disassembly that would be a big pain....

The JDM pulley is designed to be used with the cage. What your doing is completely ********D UP !!!!!!!!!!! If you don't want the cage buy a PSP,JLP or Metco pulley since they are designed that way. Your cageless pulley is being held on by five or six threads on a hub !!!!!!!!!! Think about it.
