Question Hey guys, my roommate needs some help!

My roomy has a 2000 Lightning (Still under warranty). Well, His buddy had a little accident in it and broke his lower honeycomb grille. He ordered the part from a Ford Dealership. Well, he got it last night and took it out of the box and quess what... it's a '01-'02 "billet" style grille. He took it back and told the dealership what was going on. The looked up the lower grille in the computer again and said that the '99-'00 grille has the same part number as the '01-'02 grille. They said they would return the part and reorder it, but he'd probably get the same part back ('01-'02 grille). The dealership won't refund his money because it is a "speciality part". We called a few other dealerships and they all said the same thing about the part number being the same. We called SVT and they said that they don't have ANY surplus stock. He's mad as he** and I don't blame him. Is there anything he can do? Does anyone know where he can get the correct part? Any info would be great! Thanks guys,
Dave

Try www.fordpartsonline.com. If they don't have the part, then you may want to check the junkyards. Best site for that would be www.car-parts.com. Good luck with it!

Otherwise, though, I think they're wrong about the part number... How can 2 completely different parts have the same part number? Maybe it's because of the lack of surplus.

And, if you have any difficulty finding the grille from those 2 sites, I'm sure that any of our tuners would be happy to point you in the right direction... After all, I think that all of them have at least ONE '99-'00...

Also check the classifieds on this and other L boards. I've sold my grill inserts off this board after I installed my billet grill and I know I've seen others listed.
