True 99 L??

True 99 L??

My friend just purchased a white 99 L with 10k miles on it. The sales Guy Told us it was a true 99. Does anyone know what that means or was he just b.s.'n

he probly meant just that its a real lightning. not some f-150 with a body kit.

Have you bud call the SVT 800 number, give them the VIN, and it will tell him the year and build number. Upon request, SVT will send him a certificate with the info too..

They may be able to tell him if the truck has has the VERY NECESSARY intercooler upgrade done. Replacement is FREE but only until the end of September 2002. After that, he'll be looking around a grand to do it..

membership has its privileges, or something.

Check the VIN...

...I think if the 8th digit is a 3 (supercharged Engine), it's a "real" Lightning. Of course, you could look under the hood and SEE if it has an Eaton on it.

I would hope everyone checks under the hood when they buy a used car. Most of the salesmen I delt with didnt know about the intercooler defect, and some just didnt know schit about schit
