Thunderforms?
I have one. I'm using it 'as-is' with a JL Audio 250/1 amp. It works very well. It seems to want a bit more power than I'd expect, but the JL amp has no problem meeting my needs.
You need to snap off the stock mounting studs for the toolbox, then drill two new holes in the floor to mount it with new hardware. Thump? I dunno, since I'm from the pre-thump 'classic/progressive rock' generation. It has good tight bass. It does Metallica/Boston/38/Ministry/Pumpkins proud, but I can't say about the latest hip-hop stuff since I don't listen to that *&$ .. stuff.
I can annoy everyone else at an intersection if I chose to. I've heard that replacing the MTX woofers with JL or others results in better quality, but I'm happy with it now. If I turn it up all my mirrors fuzz over.
I'm old(er) and lazy, so I don't build sub enclosures if I don't have to. I have, but it's just not worth my time these days. The MTX system is not bad for lazy people like me. Nice sound, good looks, easy install.
I'm sure if you tried really hard you could build a better custom sub box. BTDT. The Thunderform is not bad; I'd give it an A- with the proper 100+ RMS watt amp.

I've got one - I bought mine unloaded and put two 800W DVC Premier subs in it. I've got a 720W 4-channel amp under the seat (one channel each to the louds in the doors and the other two channels bridged running parallel to the subs).
Hits like a sumbitch.
It makes the front license plate (which is under my seat) rattle around, which reminds me that I should take that thing out of my truck....
Disturbed, Staind, Sevendust all sound good, but so do Nelly and Big Tymers...

Thanks for the input guys.Looks like I may be better off getting the unloaded enclosure and getting a better quality speaker.like your JL's or Infinity's.I've read where the MTX 6000's were not that great.
Madhouse your system sounds INSANE!!Could prolly blow out your windows!LOL!
How about helping me out with that link to the $100 unloaded enclosure?
