Order for Top 10 Modifications for '02

What order of mods would you do first? Number 1-10. And whose product?

Air box, throttle body, extrude upper, upper pully, lower pully, breather, trans, shackles, cat back exhaust, headers-long of short tube, high flow cats, chip, etc.

Thenks.

1. drop shackles (any)
2. chip (psp)
3. filter (any)
4. pulley (JDM)
5. beather (any)
6. valve body (factory_tech, psp)
7. t/b (any single blade)
8. back cat (mac or jdm)
9. headers w/cats (jdm or psp)
10. extrude/polish horn (any one that will do it)

upper pulley isn't needed, just put a larger lower on

1 chip
2 filter
3 pulley
4 traction bars
5 ET Streets / Hoosiers
6 t/b
7 breather
8 valve body
9 cat back
10 headers

Any tuner is good out of the big 3

cost effective = JLP > PSP > JDM

All have good quality parts

Plan mods (if possible) so you can program chip accordingly

Cobra Marty,

If your going to put those ten mod's on then Probleminfected has the right order for Him and most of us. I haven't done 6-10 myself yet and truly believe they get less and less rewarding in the improvement department as you get down the list. For me performance was first, so I went

1. Diablo Chip (Custom Program) Pick a Tuner you trust.
2. Filter (12" Hi Flow w/secondary air input) I used JDM's most are simular.
2-a. Boost By-Pass (A MUST, "YOU NEED THIS") Mine is JDM
3. Pulley (I have 2 Upper + 4 Lower) I like non cage Lower and Dial-Ur-Boost Upper to give me 5 minute tune-ability. (they're all good)
4. Beather (I have JDM)
5. Drop shackles (any) "THIS IS MY NEXT MOD"
6. t/b (any single blade) "THIS WILL BE MY 2nd UPCOMING MOD"
7. valve body (factory_tech, psp) "Sounds good to me"
8. back cat (mac or jdm) "Sounds good to me"
9. headers w/cats (jdm or psp) "Sounds good to me"
10. extrude/polish horn (any one) "Sounds good to me"

why do the oil breather ?not a really good mod.

2. doing the pvc valve filter is better = really gets the oil =oil seperator/not breather but what do i know,i did the oil seperator and it [works]

Sorry man but your top 3 are BAD!!!!! Why spend $1900 ($1300 long tubes, $400+ catback, $200 filter kit) for like .3 reducion (at most) in ET, when you can get a chip, pulley for $600 max and knock 1 second or more off your ET

Here's my plan (street + road race):

Done:
1. Factory Tech valve body, B&M tranny pan
2. Hotchkis springs (+cam bolts, Herb's washers)
3. Hotchkis anti-sway bars
4. QA1 shocks
4.5 Remove spare, class II hitch

Next:
5. LFP/Metco upper link traction bars
6. Brembo brakes
7. Tranny/oil/diff temp gauges
8. Transmission cooler
9. Diff cooler
10. Engine oil cooler

11. 6-point harnesses
12. Cold air tube to stock airbox
13. 4 lb pulley, chip with lowered redline
14. Boost gauge

Mine looks substantially different from the others, but attacks the weakest points first.

Hey Tim, how much of an improvement did you get after installing the FT Valve Body with the torque reduction still active? I am thinking of doing that before I get a chip also. I do plan on chipping mine shortly thereafter, but I am just thinking ahead. My plan is to get the valve body and then having the chip programmed without torque reduction or line pressure increase.
