My mods are very similar to Tim's. None of have touched the engine.

Regarding the torque reduction being active with the FTVB,

Hey Tim, how much of an improvement did you get after installing the FT Valve Body with the torque reduction still active? I am thinking of doing that before I get a chip also. I do plan on chipping mine shortly thereafter, but I am just thinking ahead. My plan is to get the valve body and then having the chip programmed without torque reduction or line pressure increase.
I'm not sure how to answer that. If "improvement" means ET's, I don't have a clue, but suspect very little.

If "improvement" means subjective driving experience, big improvement! Plus, the FT VB improves all shifts, whereas the torque reduction is only active on the 1-2 upshift at WOT or near-WOT.

As a bonus, I feel better about doing everything I can to keep the relatively fragile tranny together.

If I ever get chip, it will maybe reduce the duration of, but certainly not eliminate, the torque reduction. I have spoken with a Ford engineer who's opinion is gold to me and he recommends leaving torque reduction on. Ford would not have made our trucks fart for no reason (I'm sure I'm not the only guy who thought he had a sick truck on the first drive).

Hope this helps,

TLS

Just an FYI.......me and my buddy went to the track last weekend and all he has done is a 6# lower/chip/electric fan mod. He ran 12.7's all day on his ET Streets.

Lets see you do that with an airraid kit/long tubes and an X- pipe.
