ZO6...bit the dust!

OUCH!

Graphic pictures of my best friends Z after hydroplaning. He was only doing about 65 when all hell broke loose. Bounced of the left side cement barrier and then shot across two lanes straight into the right side cement barrier before being t-boned by an 18 wheeler. He walked away without so much as a scratch.

if the car is totaled, that might make a nice purchase for someone that has a chevy truck they want to hop up just a tad.

Glad to hear he was ok and all though, thats the best part.

The lucky SOB is actually getting more from the insurance company than he initialy paid, to the tune of about $6,000. He has already bought an 02' electron blue coupe in which he intends to immediately drop off at MTI to have converted to the 422 cubic inch bad boy. I tried to tell him he needed to buy a Lightning but he wouldn't bite. Some people just don't get it...it's a truck thang!

Could you please tell me how the insurance payoff is 6K more than he paid for the car. Every time I have had a totaled insurance claim, I took it in the wazoo

Glad your friend is ok!

He told them to price a new ZO6! They made a few calls around to the dealers and found that they are trying to get over sticker so...

Worked once before when his 01' was flooded during "Allison", but I think he only got about 4500 more than he paid that time.

That and the fact that he has been able to pay cash and get the cars at near invoice both times helped as well.

Speedfreak,

I saw your L on ebay, very-very nice truck!

How much do the Leer Harley bed covers cost, if you don't mind sharing that info?

Tim

The price of the Leer Harley cover if you can find them really depends on who your dealing with. From what I have been told these covers were made specifically for the 1st generation extended cab HD's. They were way behind schedule on delivering the covers so many were placed on a waiting list for them. I think some people either forgot, or sold or wrecked their trucks before the cover came in. The Leer dealer here in Houston had two which were off of the books for one of the aforementioned reasons and I picked it up for 800 cash. Of course I had to spray it so that was another 250. Not cheap, but not too way of either. It looks real good on the L's and you won't have to worry about it looking like everyone else's truck.
