dealer trying to use chip against warranty coverage????

I've got my truck at the dealer due to a computer problem. When asked about a chip, I responded no (but it looks like it has from the previous owner).

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks

I don't have any experience with this, but my friend did with his Audi. The previous owner had a different computer, and he claimed he had no knowledge of it, so they honor his waranty based on the assumtion that he was not modifying the car.
