just came back from my first ever FFW. It was the 8th annual at New England Dragway in Epping, NH. i went on SUNDAY so i might have missed some things saturday.


running down the strip: There were probably well over 100 mustangs, only like a dozen lightnings,NO SALEENS, NO 03 COBRA!!!!! and a handful of other ford cars, NO SHOs. not as fast times as usual, but it was near 100 degrees sunday. the fastest real world stang was a street outlaw that ran a 7.85 @ 185 i believe. a plastic pro 5.0 ran a 6.xx something @219. the lightnings were all in the mid 12s -low 13s w/ the exception of 1 or 2 that ran 11s. pretty good for the weather conditions.

the car show had some ok stuff, mostly pimped out mustangs, tbirds, and SHOs..... saw some beautiful newer stangs and 60s mach1s and boss 302/429s though.

notable cars in the parking lot:black 03 cobra!!!! (beautiful, but had a big dent on passenger rear quarter....probably why it wasnt in the show). mercuary maurader, few saleens of various years.

all in all it was a great time.......


did anyone go or have their car/truck there over the weekend?

thats a great photo they took Don. how much was it to get the print? did you run today? I saw a few silver lightnings...loved the sound of the supercharger whine in the 100 deg heat.

Yea..it was brutal heat.
I am now hoping for cooler weather for OCT and Fords at Englishtown.
Big Congratulations should go out to Adam, otherwise known at Fastang, for winning the Street ford Class in his 1995 Lightning.

What do you mean no Saleen's!! Mine was there along with my Lightning, I ran both all day Saturday and Sunday. Best time with the Saleen was a 12.45 @116.50, best with the Lightning was 13.2 @ 104.5 with tires that weren't hooking.. 2.0 60' times on both vehicles!!
I made it to the semi-finals in Street Ford on Saturday, I had a redlight against Adam, and he went on to went on to win it. Sunday I made it to the quarter-finals in Street Ford, redlighting again!!!!

 

what color and year was your saleen? i didnt notice any newer ones.....sometimes the announcers segway into some rambling that has nothing to do with what cars are running and they fail to announce them....i didnt notice the saleen! i was very dissapointed to see no 03 cobras running. but with the 100 deg temps it would have dissapointing runs anyway i am sure.
