Question What is a throtle body TPS sensor?

When you purchase a new throtle body like accufab, do you need to purchase the TPS sensor, and mounting gasket? What is the TPS sensor? What purpose does it serve?

TPS= Throttle Position Sensor.
You dont need to buy one with a throttle body. Its an easy swap. You may have to adjust the TPS with a voltmeter though.

Gasket is reusable. Just be careful not to rip it up pulling the stock throttle body off.

The TPS tells the PCM whether you are at 'idle'(closed throttle) or at what % 'open throttle' you are at. The PCM adjusts the fuel pulse(I think) for the different amounts of throttle openings as you press and release the pedal My t/b came with its own TPS.
