Cracked Foglights question..

What can i do to prevent my next set from cracking? Will the 3M clear protection film melt from the Silverstar fog bulbs?

Not badly cracked, but enough ot bother ME!

Cost to replace?

I don't know about the 3M coat, but I know that when I had to have mine replaced my dealership did it 3 or 4 times at their cost and at the time they had to buy the entire assembly for both sides and it ran them about 91.00...Strangest thing...to my knowledge they didn't do anything different this last time, but it's been almost 2 years and still no crack, knock on wood.

AWSOME!!

How can i get my dealer to replace them under warrenty?

Something you said?

BMW would laugh in your face if you asked them to replace fogs under warrenty! Thats why we refer to them as "StealerShips."

Well theres not a single stone chip on my front bumper anywhere, therefore I figure the cracked lights are due to heat and not stones, so thats a warranty issue right? It only took about 5 minutes to explain to them and that was it.

its coming from the inside out its from
heat not stones,i had both mine

told the bulbs get so hot if u run through
a puddle or in the rain, a drop of water will cause them

Fog Light

Going to get mine fixed tomorrow (under warranty). My driver's side fog light cracked with only 1000 miles on my truck.

Man I wish they would recall these things!
