Crap in Gauge Cluster

Another better idea from Ford.

I need to pull the gauge cluster on my 02 and clean the trash and dust off (I didn't really mind the dust until I noticed that its sticking to the white gauge face). You would think Ford would seal these things, especially on a truck!

????????
Is this difficult?
Will the steering column have to be lowered?
Is there any way to seal it better while it's out?

Also, is there anything I can do for the scratches on the cluster lens? The soft plastic Ford uses on it scratches no matter how careful one is when cleaning it.

I am having the same issues, I wonder if ford will take care of it...Although I really don't want them monkeying around with my guage cluster.

I've had my gauge cluster out - it's not bad at all, just a few bolts. I didn't open mine, though. However, there are F150's out there with custom gauge faces - so it must not be hard to crack open.

Its east to do. I did it when I installed my white face gauges. Like was mentioned before, its just a few small bolts to remove. its fairly self explainatory once you get into it.
