AutoZone SUCKS!!!

Ok I just went to autozone to order the gatorback belt's and they got signs all over saying we carry gator back belts blah blah blah. So I went in to get one and the girl at the counter starting asking me about the truck and what model and all that crap you know. so I told her its not going to be in your computer and just get me this part number. But she wouldn't listen to me and she looked it up and said, sir this is the part number for the belt for that truck. 4080990. And I said that is for the serpitine belt, and I want a supercharger belt. So after going at it for 10 minutes and her asking me who told her this number for the belt and her telling me that I'm worng I finally went home and got my truck and brought it up to there store and blew up.

She finally listened to me and said well I looked but we don't carry that belt and we cannot get that belt. So I said for 12 bucks more I'll save some brain cells and buy it from somewhere on the net that knows what I need. I don't know how you guys got them from there cause they showed nothing in there computer's for that number, and the web site for autozone is just as bad as the store and there retarded workers. I think they need to start testing these kids who work at autozone so I don't have to argue about what belt size I need.

I wanted to just smack her and say listen here bitch, I'm the customer and I want to buy this damn part number!! do you have it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so guys, I hope you have better luck at your autozone but I would call first.

yes, i also think autozone is horrid. nothing but bad with them. pepboys is worse. i once brought an oldsmobile in there because it wouldn't start. i said to the mechanic, its probabley the starter, or starter solenoid. he gives me the "oh, your an uninformed customer, why are you talking to the trained tech?". they say i need a new alternator, and battery. alright, expensive, but im sure they know what theyre doing. car works fine for about 2 weeks, then won't start for sh*t. i brought it into NAPA and they change our the starter. cheap cheap. and guess what, no refund for useless parts from pepboys! i'm never going there again. tis a ricer shop anyways.

I Bought a Brake master cylinder from AutoZone. Got metal shavings when I bench bled it. I only but "little" noncritical parts from them now!

I find it's much easier and less painful to buy parts on the web. No sales tax when you buy out of state and the guy in the BIG BROWN TRUCK brings them to my front door

Never had to deal with an Auto Zone's here in NY, but they just had a Grand opening of one close by, "YIKES" sounds like I'm in for it. Thank God we have S+K Speed, Raceway, Auto Barn, Aid, US- 1, and plenty of private owned places. But RT buying it from Terry at South Florida Pulley Headquarters would have been the move, his service is second to none.

Angry autozone

I had a similar experience at autozone, here in KY. I even gave them the correct part no. & still got the serpentine belt. When the order arrived, I asked why it was wrong part no. & they said they had no such no. in their computer. So instead of calling me (I left my ph.no.), they order wrong part, which was 2 days later. The store had big Gatorback belt signs everywhere. The manager wanted to argue that Goodyear didn't make that belt or part ! I ordered from southfloridapulley after that. Fast service,no problems, friendly people. I would definitely recommend them. For basic off-the shelf stuff, Autozone is cheap, but for KNOWING auto parts NO!

I had the store manager at PepBoys threaten to kick my *** in front of 10 customers one day, because I argued w/ him over that they should replace my tires and 2 rims they screwed up. I told him to step outside as I'd rather do it out of the store so not to embarass him in front of everyone. He declined, but kept hollering at me the whole time I walked out of the store.

I got outside, called their Home Office from their payphone, the district manager called me back 10 min. later. I told him what happened. I went home, he called me at my house and informed me that he'd make every provision to help me out. He sent me to another store 60 miles away. They replaced all 4 of my tires for free (they were their tires anyhoo), replaced 2 aftermarket rims that they scarred up when putting on the old tires, and then the store manager smiled and told me to come back again.

A few months later the store manager of my local city was canned.
