JLP or JDM traction bars?
I have the Rancho lift bars, and they are quiet. You should be forewarned that the stock exhaust and some aftermarket exhausts will hit the lift bars on bumps. I had a custom exhaust installed for maximum clearance.
Also, the bars do affect the ride of the truck.

GregS, I was thinking the rattle could have been the stock exhaust hitting on the passenger side, I still have my stock exhaust so that could be a problem. When you say they affect ride quality do you mean the truck is stiffer on potholes and irregularities in the road? Do you have the JDM's and if so do you think the brackets were worth the extra $90.

I actually have the Rancho bars from Mark at Lightning Force Performance--the brackets provided in Mark's kit are reinforced (i.e., extra thick) with grade 8 bolts.
Yes, the ride is stiffer. The bars made my truck more difficult to control on roads that have grooves. Specifically, my truck has a tendency to swerve in the grooves. However, on flat roads, I do not even notice the bars on the truck.

Thanks JL, I was originally going with your bars, but then I read how JDM was saying there's is more expensive due to the reinforced brackets. But I guess by your last post, you also have reinforced the brackets. I guess the ***** back in your court. If I dont plan to drop the L and leave the exhaust stock for now do you think Ill have much problems.
GregS , last question, on the twisties or in the rain, do you notice any negatives, considering that in the islands it rains almost once a week.
Hey everyone thanks for all the input, I know that many might be saying its only 400-500 dollars, but I think I might as well do as much research and get what I want the first time.

I think he's running a 4/6 drop, c-notched and all. You should see his swaybar.

I have the Roush lowering kit on my truck with JDM full exhaust. I also have the JDM traction bars. The exhaust hits the bars when I drive over bumps. The bars rattle a bit over bumps. The brackets will hit the ground when I go into some driveways. I like the bars better than the caltracs I have sitting in my garage.
