Stock oil pressure gauge

I know there was rumble a while back about trying to convert the stock oil pressure sender into something that actually worked.

Has anyone done it? Does it work? It would be nice not to blow a gauge pod on something that is already in the dash...

I remember the '96 Cobras you could do this on, but I believe from '96.5 on up or either '97 on up you couldn't because of the gauge cluster electronics had been changed. Even on the '96s you had to solder a specific diode, I believe, on the back of the factory cluster as part of the steps to making it work.

They are pretty much dummy senders now. They either measure that theres pressure, or not. Doesnt actively monitor changes in pressure now. Bean Counters saving pennies.
