I called SVT to see how I could confirm that an order for a lightning had been placed and was told to get a "DORA" (Dealership order receipt acknowledgement) from the ordering dealership. I called the dealership I had been dealing with and they said that Ford is still not accepting orders for the 03 Lightning. So here is my question: Who has ordered a 03 L, and what conformation was given to verify that the order was placed and accepted?

 

i recently looked into this myself,was told that i couldnt order till sept sometime because some changes havent been finalized yet!!

 

Makes sense that they wont take orders til Sept.
I was on a list from Aug 01 with two SVT dealerships, finally got my 02 in early March of 02.

 

Someone over at www.lightningforums.com ordered theres already.

 

It was me that you saw on Lightningforums, and like the others I wont get a confirmation until Sept. but I have bought from this dealer several times and I don't think I have anything to worry about. Lightningforums.com is down for updates so Im here tonight.

 

Thanks for the information, I will just keep checking back with the dealership every other week. Keep us want-to-be Lightning owners posted when someone gets conformation.

 

they told me early sept. Puls i allready g0t new piston's and a few other things ready for my 03..... i cant wate sonic blur here i come ! and mid 11's here i come two !! wwwaaaaaaa hooooo !

I called SVT last week and they said if you ordered one now it wouldn't be ready until Dec or Jan. Once I test drove an 02 I couldn't wait so I bought it.

I left a deposit on an '03L in June. I spoke with the dealer a few days ago and he said the order was placed 7/29 and gave me an order number. All of the ordering info and specs are available to the dealers on-line and I was shown an SVT document stating production was going to start during the first week of November '02. About a month ago, I spoke with a friend at Ford who advised L production was scheduled to begin February '03, but was pulled ahead to November '02.
