How big are these pulley's going to get???
How big are these pulley's going to get???
I'm just curious with all these guys running around with 8 and 9 and 10 pound pulley's.
I see some people running a 8lb lower and 2lb upper and only running a WHAT? 12.50's!!! I don't know about you guys but thats slow for how fast your spinning that blower.
The heat factor has got to be killing the power on these trucks when you go past 8lb's on a eaton blower. Its just not ment to handle this power.
Has anyone done and real research out there on intake temp's with blower pulleys this BIG!!!
I remember when 2lb lowers and 1lb uppers where like playing with the kiss of death!! but and 8lb lower and 2lb upper is just ridiculous.
anybody else have any thoughts.

I'm more then perfectly happy with my 2lb'r.
i dont feel like these pulleys will blow em up. use common sense and listen for pinging and get a safe tune. i ran a 6 for 15,000 miles with no problems and raising hell. now im up to an 8 with 3,000 miles on it so far so good. and these pulleys do help! mostly from what i can tell its down low power! but 12.50s is very fast down in these parts dude. heat and humidity is killing everyone right now and these big pulleys havent even been out but what a month maybe 2. what im saying is when 40 degree weather sets in u gonna be seeing some fast times i believe. i cant wait. im getting chill bumps just thinking bout it. we all make tons more power when its cold.
Hey, Rampage,,,"" Project Lightning Gets More Power" . It explains in detail about the benifits of larger pulley's .
Can you Elaborate a little so I don't have to spend the 3$..
Thanks Man..

we get the same heat and humidity you get down in FL most of the summer in chicago. It gets real hot with 100% humidity.

I've read before that the Eaton looses much efficiencly after the 5lb lower. We've also all heard of the rotors flaking do to all the heat and rpm's. It seems to be to go that big for the lower and upper pulleys someone would have to design the cooling to compensate for the added heat,,, either that or as said before,, wait till its 50 degrees outside

well the supecooler's will do there job, and nitrous always helps that out also. thats why I'm going to atleast spray a 50 shot with my truck to help cool it all down. but I think there's a point when you just can't suck anymore air no matter how fast you spin that blower, or the air getting sucked into it extra isn't worth the additional heat buildup and there actually loosing power.

God bless ya
