Just whacked a 911 turbo!!!!
Just whacked a 911 turbo!!!!
On the way home from erics house I was on 294 heading back home and I hit the toll both by 95th street and Next to me pulls a Brand new 911 turbo!!! God it was a beautiful car, but it did have some nasty black rims on it (car was black too). So I pull out of the both and I see him just dump it so I did too (I pulled out a little bit before him so I had a car lead but he dumped it first). So it was on and that was it, I just pulled away from him so fast and then after about 80MPH I saw him about 4 lengths behind me and he was starting to pull on me a little bit every passing second. Luckily the 1/4 mile is only to about 115 MPH with my truck so at that point I shut it down and he was only 2 to 2.5 lengths behind me so another 15 to 20 mph more and he would have passed me probably.
I'm happy to know I can hold my own with one of germany's finest, but I need more power now after that close one!! time for a new block and a new blower. Hurry up and test those out guys so I know what to get for my baby.
Another thing, we need some nitto 20inch drag radials! My traction sucks with 20" wheels.

OK like I said both me and my brother are considering getting Lightning's next summer. Lets say we want to drop $2-3K into it to start what would be the best mods to start with and whats the best place to get them? Sorry for the questions I know its not regarding the race but...
Thanks is advance.

Hey MR2Slow,
Putting $2k-$3k in a Lightning is going to give you one hellavu ride. With a proper tune...you should be in the 11's which I am guessing would rape that little POS you have now. There are several tuners you can choose from. Here are a few:
TeamJDM - www.teamjdm.com
PSP - www.powersurgeperformance.net
LFP - http://www.lightningforceperformance.com/
Here is a list of mods you should start with:
4# or 6# lower pulley - $170
Single/Dual program chip (custom tuned on dyno) - $275/$390
Cold Air Induction (FIPK) - $200
Electric Fan Kit - $450
Boost Bypass - $25
Oil Breather Cap - $30
High-perf water pump - $100
Line Mod Valve - $90
Long tube headers - $850 (Expensive)
Approximate Cost: $2200
*The rest you can spend on installation or other little gadgets like traction bars ($450) or torque converter ($900)
