yea i like it alot. its sort of s sleeper. i always liked the Impala SS when chevy made them, and the Marauder now takes its place as the family sleeper. i looked inside of it and it has 2 small gauges under the stereo, i couldnt see what they were, anyone know what they are for? maybe they are just for volt and oil pressure or something like that? it doesnt have a SC i dont think. Mike
Drove one last month, off the line it's not impressive.
After you get up the r's it moves pretty well.
Because of the Mach 1 coming out, this car will have mods coming out it's tail pipes.

One of the local guys on the Talon forum has one. He sold his L for the infamous "family reasons"(his just got bigger. congrats Logan
) so he got one of these as a replacement. He seems to really like it .

I saw one at Tower Shops last week here in South FLA........It looked pretty sweet! I ordered the DVD road test from the Mercury website............I think overall it's a hell of a family sleeper, but like someone else said about 5k too much..........I would expect there to be a Vortech S-trim for it anytime now, and I'm sure full length headers/exhaust, etc, as per the older and venerable 32-valve Cobra 4.6.......I wouldn't be surprised that car doing high 13's or less with that combo someday

We have 6-7 at our dealership right now, sold one last month and owner insisted on a white vinyl roof
. They drive nice and are very peppy from a roll but don't look for one to be a tire shreader any time soon. FoMoCo picked the wrong powerplant for the Marauder and then for some reason only offered the car in black. I think I would lean towards a Crown Vic sport package before I signed up for the Maraufer at $6K higher on MSRP.
My guess on realistic ET would be mid 15's @ 92 - 94mph, add some 4.30 gears and perhaps a 2,800 rpm stall convertor and the 14's would be a reality. With a car that heavy and a motor that doesn't make power til 4,000 rpm it really needs something to get it off the line as the last one I drove couldn't turn a tire from a dead stop in the rain.
Well that being said if anybody wants one we got plenty at Delray Lincoln Mercury...

Hey Bruce,
the only thing about the DVD you might really like is the histrory behind the Marauder.... those older Marauders were really sometihng, and I think Ford realizing that didn't do enough on the new Marauder (coverage wise in that DVD)
now with all the printed material out about the Marauder its really rather missleading... I walk into a dealership and see a marauder sitting at an angle on someone's screen with a bunch of smoke behind it as if after a peelout... one of the earlier posters released also had the burnout pic at the track.... and my friend from Jersey with the Marauder that went to the track the other day says he can't even peelout casualy, you really have to put a lot of effort to it to make some smoke...
like someone said Ford put everything in this Muscle Car except Muscle... well, I'm not too fond of a few other things, but who am I to diss Ford, I only buy their products!

I saw my first one on the street yesterday. They look great, but i agree the performance is a touch low for the money. But, there seems to be some potential for mod's for the extra HP, but will just raise the price that much more. I'd look at an 01 or 02 PI and mod that over a Marauder probably. But then again, I already have a department 01 PI, so why would I want my own?? I'm keeping the Lightning!!!
