Exclamation Big time HELP needed!!!

Long story short: Had to rewire a tail light last night...blew a fuse to the dash..fixed it this morning...now my service engine soon light is on and the OD "Off" light on the shifter is flashing and the truck "chokes" when I try to drive it? It goes into gear and it sort of moves but it sounds like its choking. All gauges read fine, truck had no problems before this. Local Auto parts store "guy" says its the "transmision" module goin on what I told on him.

Anyone have ANY ideas as to what may be wrong?

Thanks guys.

Hmm don't know the problem. But couldn't you just have replaced the fuse? Or were you installing a new light?...

The first thing I would do is a pcm reset. Disconnect the battery for awhile then reconnect and see if the problem is strill there.. If it is you will most likely have to have your L's trouble codes scan.. You know that there is a GP on a scanner going on right now. With it you would know right now what the problem is...

Yep,was installing a new tail light. I replaced the fuzeand now I have this much bigger issue.LOL I have the truck sitting right now w/ the battery disconnected so I hope this will solve the problem. If not...Who knows?

Jeff,
Didnt know about the group purchase on the scanner, not that it helps me right at this juncture in time. But I will look into getting in on it.

I have a bad feeling that since the TCIL is flashing this isn't going to be a simple solution.

The flashing O/D light is an indicator of a tranny code. No idea how that came up with a bulb change. Typically it will be a hard code the disconnecting the battery and dumping the residule voltage will not clear.

You are correct sir. The battery diconection did zippo.I'm going to have to have my truck towed over to a dealership in the AM. A simple project gone horribly wrong. I sure hope its just some electrical/ computer error or gliche and not a "true" tranny problem. Truck was running awesome last evening I can't see it being a tranny issue.
