Mauled a C5...(03 Cobra)
Whats happening fellows,
I stole my buddie's Cobra yesterday evening (that's what he gets for giving me a set of keys) while he was at work.
The plan was simple, "change the oil" in his car, then play around with it to make sure everything was o.k.
Changing the oil was pretty easy, I haven't had the luxury of changing the oil in my truck just yet (44k miles and still going strong) but access to the filter was easier than I expected.
Fast forward a few hours, I pick up an old lady friend and we head to the strip. A few laps later the Cobra was itching for some chevrolet. Sure enough, I saw a silver 2001-2002 C5 Corvette. I found out the fun way it was a manual, just like the sonic blue 03 Cobra I was piloting.
The light goes green and we stay put, to put some distance between us and the cars ahead. We roll through the intersection and I am at 4000 RPMs in first gear, I look over at the guy and he's ready to rock and roll. We both mash on the pedals at the same time and he got walked like a tired old dog.
From 4000 rpms to 6000 rpms the front of the Corvette lost 1/2 a carlength. The redline in the 03 snake is near 6600 rpms, apparently longer legged than the Corvette. When he shifted he I lost site of him in my peripheral vision, but gained some of it back (albeit breifly) when I shifted into second. I stayed in 2nd long enough to put the vette at my rear bumper, then called it good. Looking at the speedo, it read damn near 80.
Later on in the night, when he returned my truck (collateral) he raced a 2001 Viper from a 15 mph roll. Only lost about a fender to about 100. I wasn't in the car, I was picking up a potential 11 second Lightning member. [heavy german accent]"That is one quick mustang"[/heavy german accent]
I wanna get one, its gonna be used, then abused....Hehe

Hey Tundra, nice to see you're still around. I just happened to see a new red 03 Cobra with CAL plates today. Very nice! Another question for ya, are you interested in a electric fan? I have a Mark VIII fan and Hayden 3647 controller for sale. The Hayden controller has all the bells and whistles. Both are brand new. If you're interested, I'll sell it to you for $150.00.

Whats up man, I'd love to have that stuff, but I am very broke. I have been getting rid of a lot of my stuff (almost the Lightning!) to go to school and not work. This next week, and I'll be done with another 8 classes from this summer...
I still haven't ordered the lower billet grill for my truck, and I've had the upper for a good year and a half now.
I've seen that guy quite a bit, he likes to play with that thing a lot. I want to run him with my truck, I dont care if I lose.
If I come across some money, I'll look you up, but otherwise, get rid of it if you can.
