Citrus Greased Lightning

Funny we use the industrial stuff at work for all kinds of things..but then who cares about polishing **** at work. I was just in Wall Mart and noticed a large stand with a Orange Citrus Label..I checked it out and it is made by..you guessed it..Greased Lighting. I did't get any.....Vinagar is acid...is you need to wash the soot off..think it's weaker than 10% formic. I just had my tips replaced under warranty due to slight pitting...the listed for about
$100.00.......

ricekicker, well, the label is kind of painted over so i can't really read what it says, but it is rustoleum brand gloss silver paint. And on the bottom part of the label is says "protective enamal" As for the steelwool vs sand paper, i used a fine grit sandpaper because it got rid of the rust buildup on the inner part of the tips quicker than steel wool would. It shouldn't really matter which, and after i did the sandpaper, i wiped them out with alchol and dried them and painted it. That was almost 2 months ago and its holding up great. Now when i wash it, i only have to wipe out the tips and they look perfect. I guess the metal was sort of porous on the inside before and it held the soot and corroded on the inside quicker, and the paint like sealed it, so now it won't corrode or build up soot. Worked like a charm. Post pics when you do yours.

As promised. I feel my tips look better then most aftermarket ones. Takes 15 mins per tip and the results are unreal...

Hmm, the tips look good, don't get me wrong. . .but shouldn't your tips look something like this:

Sorry if I seem skeptical, but I almost ruined mine trying the famous 'ceramabunk' crap. Mother's works really, really well and I can't bring myself to risk another go 'round with another cleaning agent.

I just use regular no name polish and a small buffing wheel on a electric drill. No damn hard work required....

Greased Lightning is bad ***! make sure you don't get it on your new asphalt driveway though. It will stain it.

I use it and it works fine. I follow up with a coat of wax. No effort. And if in 5 years the tips disintegrate from it I won't care. Either the truck, the tips or I will be gone so whatever is easiest. Thanks for the tip.

I went and got some Mothers metal polish and it works great, tips are very shiny and it was easy.
