Holy Crap!
Thank you for all your responses. I didn't realize I would get so many responses.....which leaves me in a bind. I am still unclear if I completely screwed up or not. Quite frankly, I don't want to push my truck to the limit. I love power, don' get me wrong, but don't want to sacrifice the engine down the road.....I guess the million dollar question is will I be somewhat happy, and notice the mods I have done significantly?....Thanks again

Shift points are what the customer wants, but 5500 on a Lightning is near ideal. Read above post for my rev limiter explanation.
Dam your Good BFB, you got my attention

It seems I bought my Diablo program through a distributer and not a tuner. And yes each Burn still left 1 to 2 mushy even know 2 to 3 and 3 to 4 were very firm. The second burn I tried (#3) was suppose to shift at 5500 RPM (which it did) but not until the Rev Limiter had already tripped. I try not to push the limiter but my original problem was when I would power brake it "without a chip and with the stock ford ABU2 computer code", I was hitting the limiter and it would shut down, boog down, then shift to second, power back up, downshift back to first, then start screaming again. (A series of scarey events). Since then I've come to terms that this is not my 99 Cobra I traded in with 32 valves, 2 OHC, and a 6900 RPM "STARTING POINT" for a red line. Dam that Cobra could rev. I believe 5000 RPM shifts are perfect for my Lightning (and my needs) and you need a buffer for the Limiter, so 5.7k to 6k is good. I also agree with you in leaving it in Drive and letting the Computer Shift it. Then this new 3rd program #ABU2BOO6K seem to fix that all, but it sounds like they fixed my problem all right but by putting my tranny at risk by adjusting the pressure (IS THAT WHAT YOUR SAYING) ??? I guess I ask them to do something I shouldn't have, But more alarming is, it sounds like they ended up giving me factory shift points, a higher limiter, and increased pressure which I'm now find out, is a no no. The HP + Torque improvement numbers seem to be right there with Super Chip so I never doubted it ??? SHOULD I ???? I'll say this, when taking the chip out for re-burns and driving without it a week or so, I can clearly feel the loss of power. Seems like 30 or 40 HP to me ? What do you feel a Diablo Chip gives you ?
In any case, "Ok So what do I do now", can you help me ???
Please Advise, AND THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH....
I feel like an ******* telling everyone how wonderful this program is when it may be destroying my Transmission

my oh my :o
Look, if you pay for a chip and it doesn't work, it should be reburned for free and continued to be reburned until the dealer gets it done right.
Take care,
BfB

Hey Canuck
While I'm far from an expert, might want to give you a couple of things to think about. Vancouver is beautiful, fun city. spent a lot of time there when I lived in Seattle in 70's. BC women were better. BC where you live doesn't get too much snow, but if you drive your L in snow at all I would be careful about using a pulley. Might want to get JDM or LFP interchangable one if yoou do. Chip needs to be burned exactly for your mods, but wouldn't have any tranny programs in it. Go for PSP/ Factory tech product for tranny. To get best results from a chip might be good to dyno your L to get its exact air/fuel ratio for proper chip program. Improper chip programs can cause lean running/detonation and estroy your engine. Bite the bullet (much cheaper than replacing engine) and get multi-program chip from one of US tuners. Good Luck!
Retraction...
I'd like to officially make a retraction concerning my earlier posts. I had previously edited the offending content out of them, but those who did see what I'm referring to please note that I have wholeheartedely changed my views concerning MotorHaven.com . I shouldn't have stated what I did w/out first contacting that site/dealer first. The owner of that site/business, Ken Payne, is an honest person with incredible amounts of knowledge and information.
My sincerest apologies are extended.
Thank you!
