OMG....i thought when i clicked this post i was gonna hear a story and posts about an install and how someone got a new nice sounding flashy toy for thier truck like me....i've got the Mac installed on my 02...had it for a month or so...love the way it sounds and looks

it was a bear to install by myself...but in the end...i got it for the rumble and the bling of the tips...not to gain seconds and hp (or lose it for that matter)....leave that to the real perf. mods

seems like too much anxiety built up for me

miami: congrats on the new rumble and on having someone install....it was a nightmare by myself in my garage

that's exactly how I felt before I bought it, and now that it's on.....If I wanted a mod that would spank my head into the seat, I'd of bought a 6# pulley......I wanted something that would make the truck sound killer, and I accomplished that..............I wanted something that would ultimately not rob me power, and it FEELS like I accomplished that as well..............I doubt I really gained much if at all, but I don't think I lost any, and overall I'm happy, except of course, as I mentioned, the install fit...............not very well made in that department, IMO

sigh

BFB: good data, lots of work to get that information.

You could have been a little kinder, but oh well.

I thought it was general common knowledge that cat-back was useless and headers are only marginally usefull (very little bang for the buck)

Coldie (who got 15hp from his exhaust, LTs)

I'm not going to get extremely specific on exactly the times here, because that piece of junk MAC ain't even worth mentioning much out of my breath, but it was to the tune of .25 to .5+ in the 1/8 and nearly .5 to .75 mph.

I'm not bashing MAC. The exhaust sounds awesome! I'm stating what I've experienced in terms of performance. Hardly a bash...
Calling the MAC catback a "piece of junk" isn't bashing the product? Go figure!

Some of the members on this site do nothing but bitch about what other people buy. Expensive or not it's what they chose to do. THERE IS NO GAIN ON A BASICALLY STOCK LIGHTNING WHEN INSTALLING A CAT-BACK. Everyone wants to argue on this site about everything and it's silly when talking about an exhaust system cause the only thing that's changed is sound. If you choose to buy a bassani system that will last forever and make no power that's great. If you choose to buy a mac that is a better bang for the buck but won't last as long as a bassani that's even better! I have a borla and i wish sometimes i left the stock exhaust on. I'm over it. Who is really gonna have their truck long enough for the bassani system to wear out to make this argument? People have been buying flowmaster for years and throwing them on their gt's. Flowmasters are probably on of the worst performing mufflers out there. But they sound pretty damn good. Cheap or not it's for the person flipping the bill to decide. If your opinion can help someone with a problem go ahead. I'm not gonna tell someone who paid half of what i spent on a cat-back that mine is better because it will last longer. I have a borla and i'm happy with my choice. I'm glad i only spent $450 on my doesn't do anything but muffle the sound system. I would probably be real happy with a $300 one too. I could get a lower pulley and a chip for the price of a bassani! If you want it go do it!

That about covers it.
I could buy Basani but I want a Porter Cable buffer and pads, AND an exhaust.

I'll stand behind that assessment in terms of fit and finish, low end performance, and longevity (which is debatable as well).

Sound: I give mad props to whomever came up w/ that rumble. It utterly kicks butt.

If someone wants to sacrifice a lil low end, fit and finish, and longevity, all for a great sound, then more power to you and have fun doing it.

Chikenears and walker887, good luck in the automotive aftermarket business. I hope it takes off for you guys. I apologize if what I've stated requires some sort of damage control upon anything you sell. I had forgotten that you're selling MAC, sold MAC, or will be selling MAC.

Personally I think Mac gives a great bang for the buck.

I have heard the other cat-backs i.e. Bassani and the silver bullet in person. Sound great. Are they worth it? I do not know. It all depends on how much you are willing/can spend. We all have 30K trucks but, some can just afford to spend alittle more.

Actually, they all cannot compare. Borla all the way...
