My stock plugs were OK with a 3 lber but when I upgraded to a 5lber, I went to a 'colder' plug. Extra boost can lead to detonation with the 'hot' OEM plugs.

You need NGK TR6s, at the least, and Denso IT22s would be even better.

I have 7000 miles on my truck with about 1000 of them with a 4lb pully. I have the stock plugs in right now and I have had no probs.

Cool Plugs

Stock plugs will work but, it would be to your benfit to run a slightly colder plug with the added boost. NGK's or Densos

I have a 4lber with TR5s and have no trouble, but to prevent a hundred "I told you so's" I'm going to install TR6s, someday soon. Already have 'em.

Ran TR-5's in my '01 w/ a 5# lower.

usahooters runs a 6# lower w/ TR-5's and drives his truck to work everyday. He has had this combo now for over a year and not 1 problem.
