Unhappy My L is in jepordy.... <tear>

Well,

It's all my fault... I have gotten myself into some trouble with my L... speeding wise... to the point where losing my license is a real concern... It was suggested by the DA that selling the "trouble causing vehicle" would show that I'm serious about changing my ways (speeding..., excessively) and she would be more willing to deal with some of my major infractions...

I can't imagine selling this truck... I love her! She's my baby... I'm getting sick just thinking about it... I may have to though...

If you see a 2002 Silver L on ebay or autotrader from Milwaukee soon, you'll know who's it is...

I think I'm going to go hurl, cry and then hurl some more...

Governer

Simple. Have a governer chip made by one of the tuners. That way you have to make a choice to speed (as opposed to just hitting the gas).

Keep your L!

Maybe you could sell it to her and arrange to borrow it when you've been extra good!

Sell it to your wife or girlfriend (or both!!)It will look as if you have become responsible (NOT!!) and you still get to drive the drug you crave!!!

Too bad man.

But maybe, this will be a "hard lesson" that you can learn from?

I've been through a few myself. And had to get pretty low. But now I'm in tune with the Lord, obey the laws, & drive a new Lighting every day.

"trouble causing vehicle?"

changing your ways involves the self discipline to slightly lifting the right foot and/or using cruise control, NOT being punished by having to sell your vehicle and drive something else.

Ask her what constitutes a "non-trouble causing vehicle."

No speeding tickets here contrary to popular belief.

Do what I did, leave the state and get a license in the new one before they yank your existing one and put you in the national database If you speed, you speed. Selling your L is not going to remedy that. I speed in my Moms ZX2. You have to make a concious effort to curb it. I was getting better when I left Denver, but upon my move to AZ I have learned if you don't speed you are likely to wind up squished. (Except in Sun City West, home of the street legal golf carts, I swear to God) You can come hang out with me if you need a place to move to BC hehe

Speedin Bob is certainly right. Having a powerful vehicle is an invitation to speed.

However, I have to say that around here I do not see that much serious speeding except for people mostly driving chit-boxes. And they are often really speeding, even in rush hour. In some cases they are racing.

Of course, none of the above applies to me.

Jeez what planet is that DA from

I see more POS econo-boxes and monster SUV's wailing past me at high rates of speed on a regular basis. I find it rare to have someone with a real performance vehicle blow by on the freeways out here...

It's not the vehicle, it's the driver.

Good luck, and put a block of wood under the accelerator or something (j/k) until you can sort out your legal woes

No speeding tickets here, either (knock on wood).

I myself have had 2 speeding tickets, but I can understand your pain man. Us car enthusiests are a minority, so we're always the bad guys. I would see about getting a drivers license in another state asap if you know that you'll be losing your license, since that's what my friend did when he knew he was going to lose his license for driving his GN 134mph in a 65 several years ago.

Dude, Even if you lose your license it wont be forever, just stick it in the garage, use that saved gas money for mods and when you finally get your license back you will be happy as an L at the track that you didnt get rid of it. Peace, good luck and slow down!

Post Dude! Get a lawyer.

If the situation is as bad as you make it out, get a lawyer, yesterday. If the prospect of losing your license is real, so is the prospect of losing the ability to pay for insurance...

Didn't you just buy an EyeAbuser 1300????

You could afford a darn good lawyer for a couple of EyeAbuser payments...

I for one would get a lawyer, (if you dont have one) 2 I would tell that DA to stick her ideas up her "trouble causing ***" That is the biggest load of sh*t I have ever heard.
