Yep, it is now official, everyone I have spoken with today wants to be a comedian!!
It would be cool to throw that engine into something a little different, like a 65-66 fastback stang or a ranger pickup. Possible even a Mercury Grand Marquis and have your own Marauder setup.

Actually, $12k is nothing for a new motor. The price of a brand new 96-99 Taurus SHO 3.4 Litre Yamaha DOHC 32 valve V8 runs for $14,500! Brand new 89-95 Taurus SHO 3.0 litre yamaha 24 valve DOHC engines are running $12500. These are the prices for the short block btw
What's making things really bad, is that the 96-99 v8sho's are having major issues right now with the cam sprockets failing which causes the engine to literally blow up. Ironically, it's the yamaha parts on that engine that are failing, not the Ford parts, although who knows what's really going on.

Hmmm, I just sold a reman 4.6 4V 99 Cobra motor the other day for $2700 and made a profit for my company. There is a $2000 core charge to contend with and the motor comes minus the intake (like you would want to run the factory one when there is a major gain from aftermarket) and exhaust manifolds (same aftermarket theory here). Also Ford Motorsports offers the complete 98 Cobra motor with clutch, transmisssion (T45) and cats for around $6K retail which would be good for around 340 - 350rwhp with long tubes, intake work and cam timing.
