Here are a couple of clips of my Silver Bullet...they were recorded using my laptop, so they are not the greatest, but you'll get the idea.

I've seen both systems before and after being installed and heard both. I did alot of looking before deciding on which exhaust to buy...you can see which I decided on.
Both are very nice set-ups and sound great. You will not be disappointed with either and as far as performance, you won't notice a difference.
The one thing that pushed me over the edge for the JDM system though were the tips...they are incredible!!!

I'm sorry guys (and gals), but IMHO, when you get to the point of spending $600 or more on a pre-bent kit that you still have to install and likely weld together, it's time to look for a real muffler shop and a guy who probably looks like fonzie. A coated steel tube should last for 10+ years unless you have severe slat on the raods, etc. The stainless the guys are shipping, most real muffler shops either have or can get from the local warehouse in a day with no sweat. While the quality of work is nice that these boxed system have, any welder....and I mean any decent welder can do what they have done....and no, you don't need a mig/tig welder to weld up stainless "pretty", it can even be done with the good ol Oxy-Acetylene torch. For the same but likely a lot less $, you can have a custom fabricated exhaust on your truck that actually fits the way you want it, probably tucked up tighter under the frame than the "kits" though I have not looked that close at a "Kit" installed and you can choose the exact sound you want then, by the guy holding up different mufflers to the head pipe, firing up the engine and checking it out. On my F150, we determined not to put on any muffler because the sound level was nice and just enough rubmle. With regard to drone...drone is caused by thinwall pipe. 14 gauge or better single wall will not produce any drone unless you exit the pipes underneath the vehicle....but then there's not much you can do about sound then. If you really have a concern about drone, then ask the muffler guy to order double-walled pipe. It will last forever and there will be no drone. One vehicle in our family has these and they have been on for 28 years (1932 Ford 3 window coupe with a 1948 Merc flathead, cam, etc.)without a leak or any problem. but it all boils down to what makes ya happy.....and if paying for a shiney label that says "MAC" makes you happy, then do it!
beechkid - you are correct, a compentence muffler shop can put together a custom exhaust for much less $. However, 90% of the shops won't bother with custom exhaust either because they don't have the time or they don't have the skill. So for most people, a pre-made catback is the only option.
If anyone lives near Lawton, OK, you may wants to give Mike @ the Muffin Shop a call. He will build custom exhaust at a price that you won't believe.

I haven't been to a shop around her that I would trust to build me a custom exhaust. Plus I think it would be nearly impossible to have your tuner re burn a chip for a custom exhaust due to the lack of info on the flowing characteristics and back pressure. Plus the custom shop would really have to know about lightnings and mods such as pulleys, chips and all in order to choose the proper diameter tubing and muffler(s) type and/or diameter in order to match your existing mods. Does a chip have to be reburnt with the addition of a cat-back in order to compensate for less backpressure with a 4# pulley?
