Thumbs up

So what did you all pay for it? I have done the doors and the back wall but not the floor yet. (waiting to do the console conversion and take out the seats, again) I used the dynamat x-treme stuff and a ton of it at that. If you know anybody who works for bestbuy ask them what their price is on the rolls from their installation department. Just wait till you see how much that crap is marked up. Lets just say you save about 3/4 the normal cost. It definitly works great. I had to adjust the gain on my amp a bit also. Im sure when the floor is done I will have to ajust it a bit more. All in all not bad.

Beefcake: sure it's $3. (unless I left something out that I didn't notice)

Pennywise: Price: I paid 95 cents a sq foot for the b-quiet and 3.50 sq foot for the foam.

The floor took 25ft (x2, 50 total) doors took 12 ft and the back took 6ft (x2, 12 total), so 75ft total of B-quiet and 25 ft of foam.

Thats pretty cheap for all that sq footage. Whats the "supposed" difference bewteen b-quiet and dynamat x-treme? Just the foil backing? I had also looked into brown bead but decided against it when I was offerd the "best buy special"

Details

EDIT: moved some things around and added detail. More coming soon.

Here's what I know about all the materials involved.

Dynamat Original = rubberized (?) sheet
B-Quiet Extreme = rubberized tar with aluminium
Brown Bread = DynaMat Extreme = rubber sheet with aluminium
V-Comp = Dynaliner = foam and rubber
L-Comp = Extremeliner = foam and lead
B-Quiet lite = Dynaplate = aluminium sheet

The best solution is the Dynaplate/B-Queit Lite, but it would have cost almost $1300/$600 in materials just for my install. $1300 is a bit um... excessive.

I've said it before, the b-Quiet stuff is cheap and nasty (tar, duh) but it works well. I've asked them for technical details (sound absorbtion etc) and we'll see what they say.

If I had to do it again, I would probably apply a single layer of brown bread to everything and not deal with the tar (but the brown bread is expensive, so maybe not)

nice install pics, looks like the b-quiet is a lot thinner than the dynamat. The dynamat sure wouldnt roll up all nice like that on a toob. The stuff is like a 1/8" or so thick until you use the round tool to spread it and mold it a little thinner. The dynamat weighs a decent bit also.

How much did you spend on doing your truck?

I spent right at 300 dollars as I bought 2 rolls of the brown bread. Although I still have half a roll left of it. The idea being that I am going to use that half on the sub box that is still under construction. Here is the link to my entire album for those that are intersted:
