AFM PowerPipe
Ther most definately is a power gain with a pipe replacing the corragated rubber inlet hose. My 98 Cobra had a pro-M 8omm mass air on it with the factory rubber inlet. When Joe at UPR replaced it with his 4 inch metal inlet we picked up another 6 H.P. I would guess the gains on a supercharged engine are AT LEAST that. Ron Anderson sells the ***** out his powerpipes that replace the plastic Vortech pipes....and they're already smooth!!

So, maybe someone else can chime in here with some actual track and Dyno experience with it.

Sal,
I'm on top of it. Thanks for the tip.
Fast Gator,
11.5 inches minimum from dead center of the throttle body to dead center of the MAF, end to end. If you need longer, theres another inch at least to play with in the connectors.
Black 2000,
Thanks! I'll have to get some of those.
As far as power goes, I think this kit will show more improvement on modded trucks. Restrictions are felt more strongly as you make more boost. Therefore you should benefit more as you remove flow restrictions. Someone posted a while back that they added the pipe to their jdm induction kit and made an extra pound of boost. I can't remember who. Hopefully they will speak up.
I have a definite improvement over the kit I had before, and it only cost me a little more for the AFM kit with a Power Pipe, than it would have cost for one of the kits we have had available to us in the past. I've been thinking about going to the 92mm GMS MAF in the future. This kit will handle the extra air with room to spare. It will even work with the 100mm that is supposed to be coming up. That's too much for my needs; but, somebody will be using it.

So, maybe someone else can chime in here with some actual track and Dyno experience with it.

Last time I turned the board onto the AFM P.P.'s for the L I got blasted by the admin, so these are just my personal experiences on my truck.

Plus, we do not know what kind of conditions there were at the time of the dyno ie: temp, humidity, sea level...plus dyno's (especially dynojet 150's) vary quite a bit from each other. 7 H.P. sounds right with this mod , as I have seen this myself.

Now what was the truck dynoed at with just the P.P. and not the exhaust. I believe we are trying to decide if there is an actual gain with the Power Pipe alone and no other mods.
Thanks guys...
