Talking First track outing w/ 6K on the clock

Had an absolute blast. My first run was the best. I ran a 8.786 at 81.394mph at my local 1/8th mile track. That was with a 2.083 60'. I went 8.886 on the next pass at 80.466 mph with a 2.1 60' Last 2 runs were 8.976 and 9.052 running just over 80mph at the end. My 60' times went down bad. The last 2 times were a different lane, maybe it did not hook as good. Are these times pretty good for a truck with the only mod being a airforce1 intake? Valve body will be installed this weekend hopefully. This truck is awesome.

Sounds like you have a good running stock truck there Mark.

For comparison one of my best stock times was;

2.124 60ft
5.908 330ft
8.980 1/8
79.98 1/8 mph
11.654 1000ft
13.923 1/4
99.26 1/4 mph

Looks like you had me beat that first run and would bet you would have run in the 13.70's @ 101+mph.

I would think you should be doing 13.5 stock 1/4's
with that 60 foot ...

Grats ....

How were you launching? If you were torquing up the motor any from an idle you'll slow the truck down.

Slam it to the floor from a dead idle and you'll see your timeslips improve. I've ran 8.4's bone stock in my old '01.

If you need an explanation as to why this is the best way holla back. I've got a million things going on right now otherwise I'd post it (I may in a min.).

Thanks for the encouragement guys, not like I need any. I'M HOOKED!!! Valve body install w/ deep pan first. Should I purchase throttle body before chip? I can't wait for a chip.

what track did u go to , the new bern one?

you guys with only 1/4 mile timeslips should still have a halftrack (1/8mi) time on your slips, most of them have halftrack mph also.

i wouldnt get a TB before i got a chip.

yes Jeff, I went to the track over here in New Bern. Seemed pretty cool. Everyone wanted to check out the new L. Not many around apparently. I am now hooked for sure, and my wife hates the idea of me going to the track Maybe she will learn to understand. Chip and possibly pulley next. Woooooohoooooo!
