any problem disconnecting battery?

If I disconnect the battery and leave it that way for several hours, will this cause any problems with the PATS or anything else?

My understanding is...

that if you disconnect the battery with the key (key with the chip in it...PATS???) that you'll hose up the programming. Seems there is some sort of workaround if you do this, but just remove the key and make sure it's not near the truck.

Someone will have more accurate info, I'm sure.
