New plugs in

Put in a set of TR-6's, truck feels much smoother. Turns out I had two different types of ford plugs gaped between .03 - .054.

Thumbs up

That is one of the most self-satisfying jobs we shade-tree mechanics can do for our Ls. Don't it make ya feel proud ?

The Cobras were this way from the factory. They still worked, but Ford claimed they needed double platinum on one side and single on the other due to some BS polarity excuse.

Its not that they need single on one side, but that its cheaper, and the polarity of the firing jumps so that only the electrode needs platinum on one side. The other side has douple plat. because they dont make a plug with single platinum that the plat. isnt on the electrode.

I am actually doing the plugs for the first time this week. Going with TR5's. What is the difference between them and the TR6's? All I have mod wise is a filter and I have a chip on order. Also where are those spark plug removal directions I've seen posted? Thanks

Where are you buying the TR5's? I tried giving that number at the parts store, and they looked at me silly.

Wow. I found it easier to get TR5s than the TR6s.

LTNBOLT- Thanks for the link!

93Cobra- One of my buddies works at a mom and pop auto parts store and he ordered them for me. I think they were $19.00.
