i know that this has been asked a million times again and again, but i forgot, and i cant search for "oil"....
what brand and weight should i put in??
5w30 non synthetic?
truck has 9,170 miles, mods in sig.

 

If it were me I would put in any quality synthetic 5w30, such as Mobil 1, Redline, Royal Purple, etc.

Non-synthetic 5w20 or 5w30 would be fine too. Just change it more frequently.

 

When I spoke to Steve @ SVT, he suggested you wait until 8K mi before going fully synthetic, and also suggested you use the Motorcraft 820s filter.

Amsoil and Mobil One seen to be the synthetics of choice around here.

 

I put 6 qts. of RP(see sig) in at 4,000 miles--no noises or measureable useage. in 31,500 miles now.

Just changed mine for the second time. Both changes have been done with Mobil 1 5w30 and the motorcraft filter. Just under 6qts. each time(approx. 5 3/4 qts).
