where do u all get your oil changed? do u do it yourself or take it to the dealer or somewhere else? i took mine to the dealer thinking they would know what to put in it.

 

I've always done my own for 40+ years. On my 01 L, I don't need to jack it up or put it on ramps. I have a 36" extention that lets the socket reach the drain plug and if you turn the tires to the right, you should have room to get to the filter.

I put in 6 qts. of Royal Purple #11(5W20) Racing Synthetic oil and a K&N Gold oil filter(easier to remove because of the 1" 'nut' welded to the bottom of the 'can').

If you can't/won't do it yourself, I'd get it done somewhere you can watch them. There are many horror stories of "leaving the old oil in, forgetting to put the new oil in, wrong oil viscosity, just wiping off the old filter so it looks new, loose plug or filter, too many quarts, etc."
