Question Does SVT plan on putting a standard trans in the L?

I want to purchase a L but they only come in auto. I know the Dodge RT (?) has the six speed and Ford mentioned that the standard trans could not handle the tourque.

Im a Ford man but I gotta have a standard and that makes the Dodge interesting (not to mention a naturally aspired motor with high HP).

Regards,

Doogie

The Viper nearly runs the same transmission that's been in CrapMaros for 10 years, and now in the new MushStang. Of course a Tremec 6-speed will handle the tq. It's just Ford's way of decreasing costs by not having to do more in house testing, and their way of increasing costs towards us in terms of profits for using the auto.

Well if you can't deal with the auto then your going to have to spend big bucks and be a guiney pig for a manual L.

You can spend alot of money and find away to get a 6 speed tiptronic with paddle shifters (my vote).

More realistically some company (mentioned somewhere on SVTperformance.com) was making a bell housing for the Viper trans on 5.4/4.6 Ford blocks, or like BFB said :
and now in the new MushStang
Either one is going to cost money, probably have alot of problems to be worked out, and some tuning so the computer doesn't go whacky.

He probably wants to get something before he retires.

Why would you want a big, long throw, sloppy truck manual transmission in this truck???? The auto does just fine. The only complaint I hear about the auto is the gentle shifts, which can be firmed up by adding a chip.
