Question 6lb Pulley Drivability Issues

I've had my L for a while now, and just like everyone else on this board... it's time for the modding. I was thinking of going straight to the big dogs in terms of pulley size. The 6lb'er. However, would this cause any daily drivability problems. I drive the L about 50 miles a day. I have seen other discussions about the 4lb'er being all right, but I wanted some first hand info from any of you all out there that are running the 6lb pulley. TIA
The 6lb pulley would be in addition to a 3/4 drop, chip and filter. Thanks a lot.

So, basically, it wont put a lot of premature wear on the engine from the increased boost?! Also, is there anything else that I should do/mod to insure that everything runs properly?

It really doesn't matter that much if you run a pulley daily unless you can't keep from going to WOT/boost. Do get a properly tuned chip with the pulley.

I drive about 75 miles daily with a 5 lber with no issues and I'm at 30,800 miles now.

Question

Out of curiosity, for you guys who are running lots of boost with a pulley, and daily drive your vehicle constantly, what kind of spark plugs are you running, and what kind of useful life could you expect from them?

I run a 4# lower with the LFP upper. Mine is a daily driver with several thousand miles on this combo. I agree with LIGHTNINROD, you will be fine as long as you do not stay WOT/under boost constantly. Most important thing is to have your chip programmed with the pulley in mind. I run the NGK TR6s, BTW. Hope this helps.

How about a 7 lber?
Option A : 2+ psi Crank Pulley
32+ additional horsepower
7.90" diameter crank pulley

Option B : 4+ psi Crank Pulley
44+ additional horsepower
8.45" diameter crank pulley

Option C : 7+ psi Crank Pulley
54+ additional horsepower
8.95" diameter crank pulley

With these aftermarket pulleys does it make it possible to smoke the tires from a dead stop or a roll? Im looking to do this because I miss slamming second gear in my mustang. Thanks,Mike

As my drill instructor use to say, "Smoke 'em if ya got 'em."

I'm running with NGK BR7EFs but they're too 'cold' for low rpms street driving so when I get the gumption to do it again , I'll install the Denso IT24s that are waiting on my workbench.

Do you even have a Lightning..........bone stock with 5mi on the ticker I could blaze my tires for blocks without even trying.

And besides what does smoking your tires have to do with slamming second gear??
