I had a great time last night in my L. I went to jasper alabama, where i have heard through the grape vine that many ponies and ss's roam. I raced a sst dodge right off the bat, There was no contest. I ate his lunch and asked for seconds. Then it was on to a few stock stang's. The first one was a 2002, the only mod being his exhuast. I raced him on a make shift 1/8 th mile run. I took him by a full truck lenght, even after having a bad start and spining some.


The next stang was a 2000, wich had a moded exhaust , and a K&N filter system. I Got a great jump on him when they droped the hat and managed to hold it to the end of the run.

The cops came about 20 min's after that in between runs, so i went my marry way

I am going to take my camcorder next time and video some of the runs... I hope to have some by next weekend.

 

Sounds Like the street races that go on in my area. Luckily its ouside of town in a deserted area .... well by an old folks home but they watch from behind the gate. There are tons of ricers, stangs, camaros, vettes, u name it we've got it. However I have only seen 4 L's there, and all they did was watch, one raced a supra TT and it was close the L won by a hood. I wanted to see them blow away some SS's. ( I guess the others were smart enough not to street race) It's usually a bunch of ricers racing each other and the fast ones will race a stang or two. Usually you just see the new GTs loosing to the SS's and all of a sudden here comes an 80's 5.0 stang that comes and blows away everything. The cops usually break up everything after about an hour or so ... no tickets given they just park and everyone takes off. Then all the cars hop onto the interstate and look like a huge convoy heading off to race infront of the NASA space center (where the big fuel tanks are made). That usually gets broken up later and everyone heads back to the other place. All this happens on Sunday night between 10:30 - 1:30. I have a video camera but its a 20 year old Sony and it doesnt work well at night. When I can borrow a good one ill get some vids up.
