skylines could be a future threat...
I was just in the ls1 forum and a guy was talking about how he got spanked on his naked bottom by a nissan skyline. he said they will be coming to the states in 2005, now they cost @ 80 grand to get imported from japan. There are many like 3 versions to this car kinda like mustangs and comaros ( regular,gt,and cobra), going from slowest and least expensive, to fast and @ 75k. I beat the game on playstation "Gran Turismo" with a skyline (LOL) so i kinda know they are badass.
Hhhmm maybe when i get my L i'll have another nemesis to look out for.

i thought they were going to stop making the skylines? a few months ago they said they were going to stop making them because no one was buying them (apparently because people were waiting for the new version), but they stopped production, and all the last cars were already sold.

If people want powerful vehicles, the automakers will build them. I think in the next few years we will see many high powered offerings. I just hope the aftermarket is on the ball making hop-up parts for the Lightning. It would suck if when I finally got a Lightning there were many (stock) vehicles that could out run it.
I think it would be best if Ford kept the price of the Lightning under 40k and let the owner invest for thier level of custom.

That's a good idea, instead of going for a test drive just drive it on your playstation.
and...all the believers could pay for it three years ahead of production.
Maybe Dodge could sell their new Truck this way.

Cobra 96, You can't beat gran turismo with just the Skyline so what are you taliking about? Besides the Skyline sucks in that game, the indy cars will run circles around it. Sorry I had to throw that in because you sound like you haven't even played the game before....You are talking about PS2 correct? Sorry if your not, but even on the first Gran Turismo on PS1, the GTO is a lot better than the Skyline. Plus the first Gran Turismo doesn't have half the cars the newer G T has. Just my 2 cents, coming from a video game fan.
No PS2 experience here, but I owned a '90 version back in my days on Okinawa. I can tell you those things were feared on the street even back then. Even the RX-7s and Supras respected them, because they were very fast for a (relatively) big sedan. The one I had was rwd and a single turbo, but since then they've gone to awd and TT. With just a few tweaks, they run 12s, and with a few mods can get into the low 11s. Definately not a ricer car.
Youve been able to import them into the USA for a while now. Motorex has been doing the detuning to bring them down to U.S Specs. The new versions and years TT is around 100,000$ to bring in the US, and I think thats a used price. There are also some new concepts on the Skylines coming out for the upcoming year, so I dont think they have stopped production. Most of those cars with some mods push 1000hp! on the Dyno. Nice Vehicle, and if I had the cash, then I would.
