Insurance
I dont have a "L" but a reg F150 but I also have State Farm but my policy payments are around $1290 yr for a 00 F150, 01 Focus wagon and 98 Kawasaki Vulcan. This amount is for all 3 vehicles with max coverage on all(100,300,100), 250 deductible collision, 0 on comp, full glass, rental, towing and uninsured/underinsured coverage. The bike obviously doesnt have this much coverage or towing etc. It was up at $1850 after wifes accident but it just passed the 39 mth mark and fell back down.
I also have Life insurance, PWC insurance, and home owners insurance which gets me good discounts like multiple policy etc as well as still getting the safe driver discount. No tickets or accidents on me for 18 yrs with them, wife 1 accident (weather related that totalled car) and no tickets.
I really think my rates are good now after looking at some of the others

Your 16 and getting an L?? WOW..Your dad is the coolest or crazy..Well if he is letting you do it the only "trick" I can think of is this.
Put the title in his name only. Have your agent rate him as 100% as the driver..Rate you as 100% on his sedan..That is if the sedan has a lower symbol rating than the L.
Now..Your agent is gonna have to be a seasoned veteran to do this. Cause if you have an accident in it..And then another one soon the insurance adjustors are gonna get nasty.
That is the only way to get the lowest possible rate..Course with you situation in may not be a big deal to your dad to go ahead and rate you on it.
If you have the title in both your names..You will have to be rated on the L as a driver. Tricky, tricky..
Also Less than 5 miles a day to school or work helps alot. If your on your fathers account the multi vehicle discount will apply also..Get good grades that helps too..
Higher the deduct lower the premium..Etc Etc..
Have fun dude
