Complain or not?

I made an appt. for Wed. 6-26 at 430 pm to take my L in for recall work. Well I took off work 1 hour early and brought it there and asked if a certain tech only that specializes in L's look at it. I actually found people in here recommending him. Anyway I get there and ask to speak with tech Eddie and they say"oh not here till 8pm." WTF Why did you make a 430 appt with me and I left work 1 hour early to make appt. Are you gonna pay for my lost hr? So I call at 8pm and "Eddies not coming in." Well I want them to do good work so I won't complain yet. Eddie called me 6-27 and said he can't get to it till 7-1 at the earliest. WTF Why did the service writer make this appt then? "You can come pick it back up." No thats going out of my way again. I haven't yet but do I have a legit reason to complain? Whatcha think.

Did you ask for and make clear to the service writer that you wanted Eddie to do the work when you made the appointment, or did you do this after you got to the dealership?
Did the dealership have someone else available to do the work, but were willing to leave it for Eddie at your request?
Here are some of my thoughts.
The service writer probably did not know that Eddie would not be in that day, nor did he know that you would have to take off an hour of work to get to the appointment on time.
Work of this nature came sometimes take several days to complete, given interupptions, part shortages, other priorities etc. so I hope you didn't intend to wait for it.
At least Eddie did call you back the next day and the dealership did offer to let you take your truck back home for the weekend though you chose not to.
Obviously you have not dealt much with automotive service organizations.
You have been only slightly inconvenienced at this point, and maybe not without some of the responsibility as well.

I would wait until the work is completed, and if done correctly and on a somewhat timely basis, I would let it go. Complaining about this will not help when you take the truck back for its next issue. My $0.02 offered because you asked.

I appreciate the response. I did request Eddie when I made the appt. They did offer to let someone else look at it but I passed on that. I didn't make a big deal out of it cause I want my truck fixed 1st and foremost. My problem is leaving it there for 5 days till it gets looked at and leaving work an hr. early. Why should I go out of my way again to pick it up and take more time off Mon. to bring it back?

If i were you i would be happy that the dealer didnt just point to anyone and say yea thats Eddie he will fix your truck no problem. When who they were really pointing to is the guy who cleans the toilet . Be glad that they told you the truth and if you want Eddie to work on your truck that bad then wait for when he can. I guess he must do a good job if hes all booked up and you have to wait. I wouldnt recommend complaining i mean you arent getting anything done except recall work correct. Well what if the time comes and you mod something and break something big. They will be the first to be like heres the pain in the @$$ that complained so his warrenty is vodied. Just something to think about a little patience can go a long way.

Why would they void my warranty? Cause I complained. I don't mind waiting for Eddie. Like I said. I left work early not getting paid to make an appt. for wed. and won't be fixed till mon. Do you like going 5 days without your L?Not me.

Read my post again JUINOR. I said

I didnt say by complaing you would get your warrenty voided. I said if the time comes if you mod the truck and throw a rod or something then bring it to the dealer after you stripped her of the mods ,and they can tell you had mods on there, then you are like fix her i want a new engine. The service manager will be like i remeber you you are the one that complained that got me in trouble PAY BACK TIME warrenty vodied. So like i said you wanna be a ***** and complain over which im sure is a mistake and how could he tell if Eddie wasnt coming in then go ahead. But remeber who you are trying to get in trouble the guy who in the end if you blow up the truck is the one to say well yes he modded it dont honor his warrenty. Thats all im trying to show you is dont burn your bridges. Oh and as for being without your lightning for 5 days big deal i went over a month when the dealer had it when i was having major problems with her and came real close to getting my warrenty vodied. Im pretty sure that they didnt void it because i wasnt acting like an @$$. Even had the Ford tech come in and look at her. I got lucky they decided to be nice. Im just telling you what i said for your own good because i know what its like going through thinking you are getting your warrenty vodied and having to pay $5200 for a new motor it $ucks. So take it for what its worth you wanna complain go ahead but remeber what i said.

Naw just kidding. I see your point. I'm not modding it cept for chip and filter. I wasn't going to complain about eddie. The service manager that made the appt. was the problem I had.

Still i wouldnt complain at all unless your great friends with the owners of the dealer and know you wont be screwed in case anything did happen. Hope you dont think i was being a @$$ by what i said just was telling you the truth better safe then sorry right. Yea sure nothing except a chip and filter ahaha thats what we all said until the mod sickness sets in and it will. I remeber when i first got my truck and drove it off the showroom floor. I was like this truck is fast enough im not doing anything to her yea right found the boards and that was it. Half the fun of owning these trucks is modding them. Well hopefully you will get your truck fixed and have no problems.

Is it really worth burning that bridge over a seemingly minor inconvenience. I had to leave my truck for a few days because ther had to air in parts.. No big deal especially if you are modded..Like BadAzz516 said, they will remember a$$holes.. BTW that chip could be enough for a voided warranty. It's better to get along in the long run...Don't ya think????
just my $.03(adjusted for inflation).....JR

Not at all. I asked for advice..you gave it. Never good to make waves cause you never know what the future holds. Trust me I've had the bug before modding out civics and gsxrs....but we'll see after the warranty runs out.

Well this explains it all why you would want to complain and act like an @$$
