I'm buying original

Herb should have had his design pattented.

When I invent a washer that you put in your fuel tank and you never run out of fuel again - I'm going to pattent that. And my washer that stops detonation - pattent pending. My washer for the loose nut behind the steering wheel - pattent was rejected but I'm not releasing the design until its pattented!

This is completely true. American law encourages copying of anything that is not protected by copyright, trademark, or patent. Patents are a compromise--you get a monopoly, but only for a few years. Then, after you have presumably reaped monopoly profits, others can come in and drive the price down for the consumer.

I love America but American law is morals deficient.

Putting that aside, I will not steal from my brother, especially a brother that supports the Lightning community.

Herb= NLOC supporting vendor

It's called "capitalism" the basis of everything you have ever owned or will own.

I guess we should only buy computer chips from the FIRST person who made them since every tuner sincce then has "capitalized" on that idea...

Look how many different "Rancho" bars there are now called "TRACTION BARS".

Then why did I start this thread?? I started this thread the same reason most other people start threads bout new products they install or buy.......To inform the Lighning community of my experience whether it be good or bad........Not to debate whether Herbs washers is better than Davids......It was a post to say that they were easy to install and work great! If I had bought Herbs im sure I would have the same results..

Excuse me for not "searching", LOL. I have used Herb's products and I sell them to my customers. They appear to be finely mahcined SS pieces. What are these other made of and how?
I wish my customers considered customer service after the sale when they go and buy parts somewhere else to save 5 bucks then want me to install or fix/warranty them down the road... Ahh I feel all better now, thanks for listening.

I didn't realize Herb made his from Stainless Steel. Are you sure? I thought he raised the price to $50. If he did that is a $15 difference in price between his and DL's.

BTW, I just welded mine and saved the cash.

Your speculation tends to throw a negative shadow on something you haven't even seen/experienced. So you are saying you WON'T install these washers if they are not Herb's? Not trying to be PETTY but most businesses try to make money.

Prime example of why I visit this board less and less. And I don't expect sympathy from anyone. Adios.

Lightbulb

I pledge allegience to the washer, of the United Clunks of the Forum. And to the frame slots, for which they are inserted, one Clunk, UNDER GOD, un-declunkable, with proper alignment and smooth steering for all, or something.

Doesn't anyone have any morals or ethics anymore?

Chikenears - I agree with you., but you are fighting a losing battle in this forum.

It amazes me how many "cheap" people now own Lightnings. Do you guys drive 10 miles to save $0.02 a gallon on gas too?
Maybe it is just my perception of the last three years, but the class of L owners on this board continues to go down as time goes on.
