Can I nail second gear?

Hey. I love my L and don't miss anything about my cobra except the manual tranny(well, the convertible a little). Anyway, today I laid in the throttle a little to get moving, went through first gear and then got off it....during the shift from 1 to 2 I changed lanes and gave it throttle again before it shifted and when it went into 2nd.....eeeeeeeeeeee! I dug the shi* out of it! It made me remember how much I miss dropping the clutch and setting my cobra sideways in 2nd. Of course, it was a 99 with the IRS and a few of those and the half-shaft would break and she would be in service for a week. It was sweet while it lasted though. Anyway....is there a way to bust 'em loose with our Ls other than manually shifting from 1 to 2 and nailing it during the shift or doing it by accident like I did? How tough are these trannys. Just FYI, I dont enjoy beating my sled, she has 3K on her and I am still afraid to stick it because shes still gettin broke in. Anyway, just miss hearing the tires break after the shift....thanx guys.

Get a line mod valve or the PSP / FT Modulator kit

That will give you the 2nd gear action you are looking for

It is possible that a good chip will do that too.

100% correct. After I had the line mod installed I thought it was a whole new truck. It would also help if you had a chip programmed to take out the 1-2 shift torque reduction. Man what a difference!!!

So all I need is the line valve mod? I want a chip like I want Elizabeth Hurley spread eagle naked on my mattress, but I am too afraid of 86'ing my warranty. Is there anything else I need to go with it? Where do I get a good one?(not trying to start a tuner war either.......kind of sad that I even have to mention that eh..) Is it hard to install? Thanx for all the help you guys rock!

Yea

Having the great fortune to have Elizabeth Hurley spread-eagle on any mattress is NOT going to void your warrantee. They might want to extend it if you can hook them up.
Go to PSP and read about line mod and FT valve body. It will help you decide. Remember Line mod is just fine, valve body just may be better for the trans in the long haul. You decide. I haven't heard of a failure attributed to a line mod as of yet, tho' I plan on the valve body. I do remember reading that letting off on WOT at the wrong time can obviously cause it to shift extremely hard and can be detrimental.

If you can turn a wrench you can do either line mod or FT valve body.

taking out torque reduction is the worst thing you can do to your transmission=early destruction, leave torque reduction ON!(
