Thumbs up Bleed Your Brakes

My truck has 32,000 miles, I replaced the front rotors and all 4 sets of pads last week, but the brakes didn't feel much better.

Today I had the brake fluid flushed, refilled and bled.

I tell you it brakes much better now, I can really feel the new pads working now.

So for all of you who have over 30,000 miles and especially those who race your trucks, get the brakes bled.

It will be worth time and effort.

Thumbs up

Sounds great Don,
I'm glad it worked for you. Is the beast already for the trip down south? See you tomorrow.

Most brake fluid is silicone based which makes it suceptable to moisture absorbtion. Humidity, heat, boiling the fluid all introduce moisture (water) to the fluid. That is one of the causes of a spongy pedal.

I used DOT-3

I heard you can use Dot-4 but I didn't want to risk it.

I can't agree more. Try these to make it even easier;

Hey Don, thanks 4 the info on bleeding the system, I'll do mine soon. BTW, are you still setting up the July 20th race @ E-town versus the Slowmaro's and Vettes? Let me know, I'd like to participate in that event, I already have vacation days that weekend and would love to get together with as many L's as possible, thanks, John H.

John Talk to Todd Abbott he is the one who organized the July 20th event. I think you can just show up, I don't think there is ant special pre registration. By the way SVT will be giving away goodies.
