Lightbulb Knock Sensor

Reading my Chiltons last night (was bored). Has anyone ever tapped the knock sensor with a Volt meter. Apparently its some sort of crystal thingy that senses pressure changes and converts it to a voltage 0-1V reading. Just looking at the schematic it looks like the sensor is made available to the computer but not sure if it is taken advantage of. I would think this would be very beneficial to monitor especially at the higher boost lvls.
Just curious.

Jes:

This has been mentioned before but I'll chime in. Our L engs. have a(not sure if there's more than one?) knock sensor in the block but Ford/SVT chose to leave it unconnected to the PCM. If I remember correctly, it was because of a 'noise' issue brought on by the s/c/boost that confused the sensor. "Garbage in, garbage out."
