still waiting
I overnited a money order to JDM may 28-02 for a Silver Bullitt exhaust. I still have NOT received it yet. Customer service is very poor. Telling the truth to customers MUST be a no-no! Yes, this includes Justin. I could not run my business that way. I am NOT happy, thought I would pass this current(just got off the phone) info along.

I hope that if it, or parts of it are on back order they are telling you that... and not saying it's shipping on Wednesday or some BS like that... I went through this before...
All I can say on JDM's behalf is that their parts (when you get your hands on em) are top notch... I do not agree with their customer service habits however.
Everyone has been on here bitching lately... it's got to stop... I'm a rather new user here, but if when I joined I saw a lot of this bickering, I would not have registered or used this board... I don't know what happened before I was here, but it seemed that all b!tching started like a month after I joined...perhaps I caused it!
I'm here for the long haul, and find this board to be an invaluable resource to get questions answered and get new ideas for cool things to do to my L... anyways....Here are your options:
1. Wait for the system because it's that f'ing awesome
2. Call Justin, request your order be cancelled and you be refunded.
You really should have used a CC so you have the oppertunity to dispute the charge if things never come...
bluetooth,
I think enough negitive things have been said for a while. You have to realize that all their exhaust systems are made in house and they are super busy right now. Their parts are well worth the wait, and when you do get them you will be so happy that you will re think making this post. If you have called them than that is all you can do, and if you decide you can't wait then just ask them to send the money order back. As I said they make them to order and to me it would make the most since to wait until you get a couple of orders so you could make better use out of your time.

Hi Bluetooth,
We're the distributor for JDM Engineering parts here on F-150 Online, so I can give you some insight into that..........
JDM is indeed extremely busy, and with the release of these new exhaust systems they developed, quite frankly they were simply overwhelmed by the tremendous response, it's been way beyond their expectation and beyond their ability up until now to provide them in a timely manner.
We were just up at JDM again last week, and talked with Jim about this specific issue, the lead time for the cat-back exhaust systems. They are doing everything in their power to gear up for the production of those units in much higher numbers. Remember, they are doing all the tube bending, etc. in-house, right there, in addition to everything else they do, and between that and the tremendous public response, that is why they have been delayed a bit.
They have reached an agreement with a firm to handle the production of those systems, and in the near future we'll be seeing no lead time, but it takes a little while to get to that point. Again, as with any brand new part, you just have no idea how many people are going to want the new part immediately, yo uonly find that out *after* the product is released, and in this case, the response has been beyond their wildest expectations.
Here's a point that we all need to consider about JDM Engineering................. They are doing a tremendous amount of R&D to bring so many new performance parts to market, and that is not easy to do, in fact it's extremely demanding and back-breaking work. the guys at JDM are working 7 days a week, 14 hours every day trying to keep up with the demand for their parts & services, and it's due to the quality of what they accomplish. Add to that the new exhaust systems, and you have a situation where they are working until they drop everyday, and are still behind. That is all changing, and changing rapidly, they are doing everything in their power, from investing hundreds of thousands of dollars into expanded inventory in all their other parts to finding a fab firm to get all the in-house fabrication of these new exhaust systems off of them, so that they are in large supply & readily available.
I can tell you as a businessman for many years, I've never seen a company the size of JDM Engineering be able to product so many top-quality parts so quickly. Many much larger companies can't do what they do at all, let alone in the time they do it.
That may not make waiting for your system any easier, but I thought you'd appreciate knowing more about exaclty what is going on and why, and what's being done about it. In fact, I just got off the phone with Jim once again a few minutes ago about this very issue. This affects us as well, since we distribute their parts, so we need to know these things as well.
They are also adding more staff just as quickly as they can find qualified people and train them for what they'll be doing there at JDM.
All in all, we are very well satisfied that JDM is doing everything and anything that could reasonably be expected of any company in their position with regard to getting the supply of all these new parts & exhaust systems ramped up.
Please hang in there and know that when you get it, you'll have a fantastic-sounding exhaust system that can't be had from any other manufacturer. We've got it on our project Lightning, and couldn't be happier. It sounds like a classic big-block musclecar, something we've not heard since the introduction of the catalytic converter back in the 1975 model year.
All you need to do anytime you need information from JDM is to call them and talk nice to those people, especially Julie & Justin, as they two of the nicest people you'd every want to meet. They have to hear this day in and day out, and all they want to do is to serve you and make you happy. They're not trying to screw you in any way, shape or form, and they want you to have your product every bit as badly as you do. They really are good people up there, each and every one of them knocks themself out each day trying to do ever more for their customers, and for us. They know *exactly* how unhappy you are when you don't get your part right away, and believe it or not, they feel the same way, as it holds them up too.
It helps if you have an understanding of just how much of a load they have on themselves as America's premier Lightning performance parts developer. I've seen it time after time, and they really do an incredible job overall. Which is why we have been doing business with them for some time, and will be for a very long time to come.
Hang in there my friend, it won't be long!
And if you ever need to talk about any of JDM's parts, etc., or ways to improve the performance of your vehicle, please feel free to give us a call, we'll be happy to spend time with you going over just about anything you like.
Best of luck with your Lightning,

A thumbs up would be positive
As a thumbs down is negitive, atleast this is the way I see it.
I wasn't trying to come off as judging you or anything but the boards and the tuners have been trying to stay on track, or get back on track in a positive way. We all just need a break from the thumbs down posts and we all will be happy. I do hope you get your exhaust soon so you can be happy also.

I can see what you'all mean by bringing more positive vibes to the forums. Still, I can understand what bluetooth means. Sending MO overnight for whatever XX amount means that he expected to recieve product sooner. 2.5 weeks can feel forever waiting on a already payed for product. Then again it is his money so he can do what he feels. He is just sharing his thoughts with us. Hope it all works out for you Bluetooth.

Just got thru talking to Jim@JDM. Nice person & conversation. Problem addressed thru me(customer feedback) to Jim. Sometimes the only way to accomplish this is by the addage; The squeaky wheel gets the grease". I now have a time period to expect my product & some constructive feedback to the company that sells that product. There are no flames/bashing/negative posting by me. ONLY what took place, period. This is not my first order with JDM nor my last. The end result will probably be better customer service /feedback for future consumers and a better handle for JDM on how to perform that business. Nothing personal was said or introduced in my posts , although I think some was read into it. We have to be able to improve relations if a problem arises or is present without immature reactions or jumping to rash conclusions. As a customer, my problem has been addressed in a civil, calm manner.
You know what I have noticed
99.9% of the time when people call and talk to jim the problem gets resolved. It is only on the internet where there seems to be a problem.HMMMMMM
If you have an issue with a tuner(any tuner) give them a call and find out.Usually it is solved in a couple minutes.
Just my observation.

Bluetooth,
If what you truly wanted was resolution, wouldn't
you have called Jim FIRST before running to the boards?
Jim and Sal and all the others resolve things when you
TALK to them .....
Just my .02 worth

Although I am new 02' L owner, and to this forum, I am not new to running a business or customer service. I think the best thing JDM and other tuners (companies) should do is be honest with your customer from the get go. If you are backlogged, or parts haven't arrived in a timely fashion, relay it to the customer. Even if you used a primitive filing system it should only take a single person to do some followup phone calls or emails to your customers. Communication is one key to a successful business, wether you are local, or nationwide. Nobody likes to be in the dark when they order something. As long as you are up front with your position, the customer will understand, and have a choice; do I place the order or go elsewhere. If you **** them off they will go to someone else 9 times out of 10 anyhow.
