I am running Bell tech 2" drop shackles in the rear, and Hotchkis coils in the front. I don't thing I would recomend the Hotchkis front springs to anyone unless you are willing to go spend $650 for the QA1 shocks like I did. They are just way to stiff for the stock shocks that come on our trucks.

Talk to Stan(Ruslow) over on NLOC he can give you great advice on springs for your truck. I think he can even get you any front spring rate you want.

There are a bunch of kits that qill give you the 1/2 drop you want.

Eibach makes a nice progressive rate front spring.

Rhinoslug, don't mean to jump in on your's and Don's thread, but since he mentioned Eibach springs, I thought I'd show you my truck which has those.

The bottom pic is with just the Belltech shackles, the top is with the shackles and Eibachs. I got about 1.75" drop in the front with the Eibachs. I've been pretty happy with them so far, even with the stock shocks. However, I'm probably going to replace them with something designed for a drop.

Don- Thanks for the info. Yeah, 650 for the shocks is a little pricey. I read Sal has a 1\2 drop kit for about 175 (I think) but I cant find it on his site. I'll stick with the stock shocks after dropping it to see how it rides. Thanx again.

Chainsaw- I like the top pick. I dont know if its the angle of the photos but it looks lower with just the shackles. Thanx

Same here, it sure looks HIGHER with the Eibachs! Is it?

How was the ride difference between Eibachs and stock springs?

Thumbs up my .02...

I installed a set of Eibachs. I've been very happy with appearance, handling, and ride quality. I chose Eibach because of their reputation of quality. I too was alarmed when I noticed that the top 1/3 of the coils touch eachother, but beyond appearance of springs, these springs work well. I had a set of GroundForce springs (same ones in Ford Motorsport catalog) and they were too stiff and caused severe bumpsteer, even with their shocks (which only last ~25K miles). The Eibachs work well with stock shocks and shorter end links (~ $10 at Pepboys).
I think the Eibachs sit alittle lower than the Hotchkiss.
Hope this helps.

Whoops. I got my own pics wrong. The top pic is with the Eibach's and shackles. The bottom pic has just the shackles, thus the front end being higher. Must still be suffering from all the sleep deprivation from playoff hockey.

truckn, the only complaint I have so far about the ride, is it tends to feel a bit bouncy over rough roads (and we have enough of them here in Michigan). That's probably due to running with stock shocks. I'm looking at installing a set built for a drop, just not sure which one's yet.
