Lightning or Marauder?
Here's the deal. I own my 2002 Lightning free and clear. I used to own a 1996 Impala SS so I have appreciation for big, fast cars. I put a Begrug and a Snugtop cover on the bed. The question is should I keep my Lightning, or trade it in on the Marauder (removing the Bedrug and the tonneau cover of course) and get a supercharger put on it? I would probably get either a Whipple or a Paxton, which ever is best.
I've read everything about the Marauder, but it doesn't say how much it will cost. Does anyone know how much the Marauder is going to be?
Thanks for your input!

I'd buy a '96 SS Impala before buying a Marauder. I wouldn't consider, even for a second, trading a paid for Lightning for that slow, ugly, and misnamed vehicle. The supercharger is a good idea though. It is in need of some serious help in the torque department.
Sorry, I know this is not what you asked for. I thought you might have impaired judgement, due to some exotic medication, and be in need of intervention.

I love my L don't get me wrong. Like I said I got a thing for big, fast cars. I'm looking at it this way... Chevy is talking about remaking the Impala SS using the modern day Impalabu
and making it with a LS1 front wheel drive
I'm just checking out my options. Plus it would be nice to have the "back seat" every once and a while!

Keep your Lightning brother!!!
If you're looking for Muscle in the new Marauder, like AutoWeek said, thats the only thing Ford forgot to put in it!!!
the Marauder is slow and just a tiny big faster than the regular Crown Brick which its $10, 000 more price wise...
If I were you'd I'd wait another year for the possibility of buying the Roush Supercharged Marauder thats being worked on as a 2004 or so project from what I hear!
On the other hand if you buy a Marader and start moding it at places like JDM, than maybe Jim will develop some go fast products that all of us Crown Vic owners would be able to buy for our cars... that'd be pretty sweet if guys like you would get the ball rolling on the Panther Platform Performance Products.... (PPPP hehe)

It appears that Ford/Merc may have come up a bit short on the performance of it's new Marauder. Thirtysomething thousand is a lot of money for the return in goods. Now if supply and demand drives the price down to the mid to upper twenties this car would be more attractive. Now if Merc does the convertible with the blower...hmmmm....
