My friend had a Maruader before it got T-boned.
It was a real nice car, chirped second, bone stock.
Comfortable interior, nice ride. I liked it.
Oh yeah 00Freepost in a 3 yr old thread00

I actually have both - the Marauder is my daily driver, to keep the L clean.
It's a nice car, for what it is. Big car, with ample space for larger guys like myself (which many Lightning owners are). The Marauder is nowhere near as fast, or as quick as the Lightning, but is it ever comfortable! I also think it's one of the better looking vehciles around. The subtle differences from a Crown Vic / Grand Marquis get as many looks as a Lightning does. I picked it up for a steal - $52K Canadian sticker - Out the door for $37K Canadian (including our 15% tax). It was brand new, but sat on the lot for a while, and I was there to ****** it up
It's taken a lot of criticism for being too slow... The biggest problem is the lack of low end, fromt he DOHC 4.6L. A big, heavy car with 3.55's and without gobs of torque is not going to have an awe-inspiring launch. Spirited driving from speed, and it shines. Bone stock, I've run many 14.8's. With a CAI, and chip (from Lidio of Alternative Auto), it's a fair bit stronger, though I haven't been back to the track, yet. I don't think that 13's are too far out of reach, with a few more well thought out mods (under drive pulleys, 4.10 gears and maybe a little more).
Now that they've been out a few years, the aftermarket has flourished. Many have slapped on an Eaton, and with very little else run very low 13's - high 12's on stock rubber.

I own a 96 impala ss and ive never driven a marauder but they look nice to me I even thought about getting one (might still). Im not giving up my impala ss though.
Though I bet it is cool having other cars move over or slow down when you pass by thinking that your a cop, I use to have that effect in my impala before they went to using nothing but vics as sqaud cars.

Even more so in the winter, when I put on snows, mounted on the CVPI steelies.
